I love a peaceful summertime spent in a rural location in one of the more southern states of Australia. My pick is in the mountains, good climate and not too high bushfire risk permitting or in the river valleys where I have made my summer retreat home on farmland. We do not own the farm or the nearby parkland we rent the use of the land to house our 7 room retreat on and have access to the town water and the irrigation supply water for the gardens and also the massive solar power unit for unlimited and free hot water. it is a great set up for us. This is better than suburbia.
I love watching the farming activities around me and knowing I don't need to do any maintenance on the water coursed or the lake. it is just there for our enjoyment.
Great to watch them work while I work :-) They are cutting the wheat hay outside my window. Nice to watch the huge harvesters in operation and see the hay stacks being built. They stack them further away now following the lightning strike...
