One park we have stayed at during our travels around Australia is Vara-Ville Village It is situated on the Midland Highway, Mooroopna Vic 3629, 187 kilometres north of Melbourne. Travel by car via the Midland Hwy, or from Shepparton via the Goulburn Valley Hwy. Daily rail and coach services available from Melbourne. PARK FACILITIES: The park has pet and no pet areas and is best suited to quite single people or couples who are in their 40's onwards. On the grounds is lake Victoria. You can walk near this lake, sit beside the lake, picnic, or simply sit and watch the water or animals. Onsite homes and caravans with built on annexes are available for purchase at the time I write this blog. You must contact the park's management and not the blog authors for recent updates. This blog does not represent any of the places we write about. SITE FEES: When we visited, there was a live-on site fee which is for the cost of site rent, hot water service, full ensuit, laundry, washing machine, drinking water and maintenance of caravan village. For power to your on site home, you have your own meter box and pay for your own power. DISTANCE TO: 5 minutes from Mooroopna, 10 minutes away from Shepparton (the Show Me city). Country living, close to a city. Aquamoves Gym, four supermarkets, major chain stores, theater. Spacious tree lined streets, rural surroundings, many sites have unbroken views over farmland. ADDITIONAL INFO: You get your own mail box and you can send items/letters from where you pick up your mail as long as you have the required amount of stamps. A phone line is already set up at some sites, you just need to get the phone company to connect. Final note. The rural land some of the park overlooks has recently sold and I do net know what use this land will be allocated to in future. Also, Vara Ville itself is, I believe, for sale, making its future undetermined as residents will no doubt be the last to be made aware of ownership negotiations. For the moment, it is a good, quiet, if somewhat potholed private roads, peaceful caravan park to live in. In 2019, the management were extremely discourteous to a disabled, senior woman, while her husband was hospitalised. The husband had asked for assistance to remove a garden. Without consulting the woman prior to beginning the garden dismantling work' to allow her to remove valuable archways and smaller potted plants and garden furniture, they took everything away. After they had paid rent for eleven years, such discourtesy was considered shabby by the couple. Well, you get what you pay for. The sites at Vara vill are cheap by caravan park standards. The view, if you can get one with the rural outlook is great. Final impressions, as regards the park management was not so favourable. There are better places to stay for long-term accomodation. NOTE: I am RYN SHELL - ARTIST - AUTHOR - ART TUTOR, and blogger. I am not a representative of any of the locations I write about' nor do I live there. Please direct all enquiries about accomodation to the sites concerned, and not to the blog writer. Thank you.
