The hazards of fire and flooding this summer has made travel in Australia subject to the prevailing conditions.
Our area in north central Victoria is much safer after a good rainfall overnight :-).
This is the CFA report of the areas the rain has eased the situation re the fires.
The rain is finally here! A wet start to the day, with rain expected to continue over central Victoria and extend to the northern east this afternoon. The Tallarook fire got some rain and the Bureau is confident there will be rainfall over the Harrietville fire, and some over Aberfeldy. Unfortunately, not much rain predicted for the Grampians but moderate weather overnight has assisted firefighters.
