The empty swing. My pen and wash artwork to show the effect of Covid-19 on Australian playgrounds for most of this year. I'm happy that most stayed away from public gatherings and thus helped control the spread of the pandemic here. Do what's needed in your area to Stay Safe.
Happy Creativity Everyone. My
art, art prints and art gifts are available here, and the art tutorials here.

In each fine art episode, Ryn Shell works in the mixed mediums of ink, watercolour, and sometimes gouache, or in soft pastels, oils or acrylic. [Australian Sketchbook]

This empty playground I painted for this tutorial is in the central highlands of Victoria.
The still swing told a visual story of the social distancing being practiced by many people here in Australia.

I'm grateful to those people who make the effort to reduce the spread of Covid-19.

Thank you to Daryl Rayne for the use of your photograph as reference for this artwork.

This was the artwork in progress.

Working with ink feels like going back to my childhood, so why not paint a 1950s era playground, still standing much as it did in my childhood days here in central Victoria, Australia?

At this stage of the artwork, I had I hoped to have this work ready for video release within days, complete with Autumn colouring, as a ink line and watercolour wash painting.

At this stage of the painting, Reg developed a sore throat.

What fun had creating this line and wash artwork. Firstly my studio lighting failed and I struggled to complete the artwork with the current winter cloudy sky using natural out of doors variable light, and background sounds.

Being a Pollyanna type, I chatted in the video about these being part of the things that an en plein air, on location artist needs to deal with. Hopefully. I 'pulled it off.' You could let me know in the comments.

Other issues that attempted to derail this weeks art demonstration tutorial release was my husband Reg and myself once again, (I think this is three times now) being locked in our rooms, as social distancing, due to a perceived Covid-19 risk.

The computer with my almost completed video tutorial of this work was locked up in quarantine with my husband.

Unable to complete the video for the panned Friday evening release, I set about to create, another improvement for those who hit the notification button to view my YouTube video releases. now you only need to subscribe to the channel with the content you mainly wish to see. Thank you YouTuber friends for all your support.

As I completed the painting, but not the tutorial video, precautions were put in place.

Reg was isolated in his room and tested for Covid-19.

I stayed, but wasn't isolated, in my room. I am social distancing anyhow.
"The Covid-19 test came back within two days—negative.
Reg and I were back together this morning.
WONDERFUL!

Daniel Andrews is trending on Twitter. So he should be!
@DanielAndrewsMP is a true leader! He has been responsible for keeping our community safer, compared to many other places, from  this currunt pandemic.  I could not be ins a safer place, thanks to the responsibility of most Australians and due to great leadership by a premier we affectionatelly call Dan.
Daniel Andrews is the leader Victoria and Australia needs during this crisis!

Precautons, put in place fast, followed by quick testing for the Covid-19 virus, as happened to Reg when he developed a sore throat, are saving lives, by stoping as much spread of the virus as is possible, here in Autralia.
