here are a few ways to predict the weather by watching wildlife.

Good Weather
  • Ants scatter themselves during good weather, and they travel in lines when stormy weather comes.
  • Ants close the entry to their nest before storms and open up the entrance again when good weather is back.
  • Bees flying far from their hive foretells good weather
  • Spiders weaving their webs the middle of the day indicate good weather ahead.
  • Fireflies in great numbers indicate good weather.
  • Frogs singing in the evening indicate fair weather the next day.

Rainy Weather

  • When spiders leave their webs, expect rain.
  • The ants will be busy gathering their food/ performing work around their nest just before rain.
  • Spiders spinning in motion indicate rain.
  • Living leeches stored in glass jars are very active just before rain.
  • Fireflies fly low before the rain comes.
  • The louder the frogs sings, the heavier the rain will be.
  • When spiders strengthen their webs, expect a storm.
  • Bees flying close to their hive foretells a bad weather is coming.
  • If you see hornets building their nests near to the ground, expect a cold and early winter coming your way.
  • Fleas are in flocks or in high numbers before the rain and snow.
  • Emus watch the sky  looking for rain clouds and relocate so as stay in the best climate for good grazing conditions.
