Cue, Beautiful, heritage, gold rush town, Western Australia.

Step back in time and take a visit to Cue, Queen of the Murchison.

Formerly the scene of a massive gold rush during the late 1890’s, Cue is now a living example of the past and present. Is well worth the time to visit.

I have friends who are restoring a heritage building in Western Australia. They will preserve the best of the old, but needed expert advice to get the lighting right.
I understand.  The wrong lighting for a museum and heritage tea room would ruin the historical atmosphere.  Their property needs only the most essential modern refurbishment.

Refurbishment: To make clean, bright, or fresh again;
Good lighting might be all they need to invest in to be ready to open for business.

Cue is the perfect place to stay a night or two when touring the outback Murchison region of Western Australia. We have stayed at the local caravan park and also at nearby Lake Nallan. Cue is located on the Great Northern Highway, 650km north east of Perth, it is a picturesque town of old buildings, interesting rocky hillside, wildflowers and nearby lakes.  Relax in the area and learn a little about this great heritage town.

Renowned as being a clean, safe and quiet town, Cue is proudly Western Australia’s 2007 tidiest town and winner of the 2007 National Litter Prevention Award.
Restoration efforts to maintain the town are ongoing.  See the giant S bolts that are in many of the walls of the heritage buildings.
The red soil contrasts to wildflowers, animals, river erosion,  mining breakaways, salt lakes and the heritage gold rush town.
Cue is a must visit destination.
Cue is 650km north-east of Perth and just over 400km from Geraldton. Stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables at both ends of your journey, as there aren't any market gardens in the outback.
The best time for visiting Cue is between April and September.
They call Cue, the Queen of the Murchison. It's easy to see why.
Break your journey here and stay at least a couple of days to explore.
The Shire of Cue is 120kms south of Meekatharra and 80kms north of Mount Magnet, right in the middle of the beautiful outback.

Look at those landscapes. There in nothing barren about the outback. This is incredibly beautiful country.
