Easy Healthy Food

​I enjoyed this refreshing coconut water drink and believed I was having a healthy and natural beverage served in a fun environment beside a beautiful view, opened in front of me. 
I do not believe the claims that coconut water is identical to human blood plasma nor that it has any magic weight loss properties.

​I rarely automatically believe articles claiming super powers for any product, and I search for the backup, research notes and check the credentials of the institutions and researchers, making the claims and watch for the 'similar' sounding names to the legitimate research organisations that the 'fake' research papers may contain. 

​Just because something is printed, published, out on the web or in a bookstore does not make it so. 

Just because it is being bottled in the US and marketed as a slimming food, by a skinny celebrity model, does give it magical properties, nor make it a slimming food. I think those claims are laughable.

One berry company has a lot of blog posts on the internet proportion to be a genuine research by one single person, the anchor lady of a news program. One fictional person does not make a research project.  It is hard to say, 'do not believe, people,' but where your money and dreams are concerned, it is wise to read, what isn't being said as well as what they tell you. 

I have heard that coconut water is about to be marketed as a high priced health drink. It is happening overseas; I am getting in before the ' drink this and lose x amount of weight fast,' claims hit Australia, to say, 'it's a delicious drink fresh and most likely healthy, it isn't magic.'

​Summary
A dose of skepticism and demanding that promoters back their claims with research papers from reputable organisations is healthy. Eat natural foods in a balanced diet and realize that no one food, or magic berry, will have you losing kilos unless you are consuming fewer calories than you need to maintain your current weight.

Read between the lines; read what is not there, and look for the reputable backup research. Just because something is in print does not make it fact.

Quick Healthy MealsEgg with Avocado, Tomato and Basil Toast

Ingredients

• 2 free range eggs
• 2 Slices Wholegrain Bread
• 1 small or half a large avocado

• 1 sliced tomato
• 1/4 Cups Basil Leaves

Method

1. Boil the eggs. Time them to three minutes to set the whites, from when the water begins to boil. Cook longer-for up to eight minutes, if you want the yolks hard. 
2. Make toast and spread with avocado. Top with the tomato and basil.
3. Season with freshly ground black pepper and serve with eggs.

If you prefer, and cannot buy avocado in season , make thin with two eggs. The calorie content of the meal is about the same. Toasted Cheese Sandwich for a quick and healthy lunch for a busy traveller.​Egg with Asparagus and Melted Cheese on ToastBreakfast for two, pictured above.

I rinse the asparagus and snap the ends off. Place the tips of the asparagus in a covered dish and microwave for two minutes as I'm making the toast. I put a thin slice of tasty cheese on top of the asparagus and microwave this, covered, for one minute. I serve this on whole grain toast. 

A blast from the past: My blog comment, this day, in 2010. I may be a bit quieter here on my blogs for a few days as we are about to drive 1,400 kilometers in however long it takes with time out for beach walks and runs and enjoying life. Our next settled in destination is far north Queensland Australia, we may arrive in three days or three weeks, whatever takes our fancy.

I'll have heaps to write and show once I arrive and I'm right on target for a great finish for the Michelle Bridges, 12 week body transformation. I can see and feel the improvement in my fitness and looks.
