The Alaska-Canada Highway is a joint venture that spans across two countries, two Canadian providences, and one U.S. state. The Al-Can starts at the small city of Dawson Creek in B.C.. From that point, the Alaska-Canada Highway covers 1422 miles (2288 Kilometers) along the Canadian Rockies and through the Yukon Territory.
Just as if you are planning to gross Australia's Nullarbour Plain, you should plan for a minimum of 5 days driving, and that’s if you plan on driving without stopping to adventure anywhere.
As with a Nullabour crossing, thoroughly prepare your vehicle for the road trip. You might like to take some reading matter, besides a map.
Author Cherime Macfarlane has written a romantic road trip book that would be ideal reading before, or during the evenings while on such a trip.
About the book, Death Wish by Cherime Macfarlane.
The road from Alaska through Canada doesn’t need a map.
The road from death to life is complicated for Colin and Maria. There are detours and chasms that can break them both. A dead man they both loved is the only thing they can cling to.
Death Wish tells their story against the backdrop of the Alaskan and Canadian wilderness. If a trip to Alaska is too far for you, do a little armchair exploring, I love Cherime Macfarlane's Alaskan stories.
