Award-winning artist and art tutor, Ryn Shell compares a tight work done with watercolour pencils to watercolour to one completed with extra-soft pastels and soft pastels artwork.
Valentine the studio cat introduces this YouTube video as I am welcomed home from the post office with new art supplies, a boxed set of Schmincke, Finest Quality Artist's Extra-Soft Pastels to compliment my existing range of Art Spectrum, Sennelier and Rembrandt sort pastels which I have stored in art tote pastel carrier boxes. I work with Flinders Blue Violet a beautiful Australian colour that reminds me of my painting trips no Central Australia and the outback. I demonstrate a lot of experimental painting with artist's watercolours and the artist's soft pastels.
A bouquet of chrysanthymums with a yellow rose and jonquils flowers – so pretty - they bring us joy even on rainy cloudy days. Lemon yellow flowers will always lift our spirits and bring that happy emotional feeling.
I’ve featured pastels over watercolours once again. I'm loving this combination of painting mediums. What caught my attention wth this flower arrangement was the opportunities to create beautiful colour harmonies and tonal contrasts to show off the beauty of the various flower petal forms. Open Mystery
Ruth Randall's novel "A Judgement in Stone," opens with this line.
"Eunice Parchman killed the Coverdale family because she could not read or write." In open mystery novel, the reader knows who the murderer is, from the beginning; the mystery is why, and how, they did it, and if they will be caught. In The Stolen Years series of novels, the reader has a view of who commits many of the crimes. There is plenty of suspense while no one else suspects who the murderer is. The Stolen Years Series
From an Australian bestselling author comes mystery thriller of determination to find one's place in a world that men are threatening to tear apart.
