How could I have bought a camera lens new for $138. that now sells from $475. to $628 only four years later?
That price hick seems huge. I found a better deal below. Today's update on EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM, for my SLR Canon camera, after four years of use.
I am updating this blog post in July 2017 from a post that I wrote bock in 2013.
I've upgraded my camera, as I need video these days. However I'll keep my old canon camera and this lens, the EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM, as it is the best portrait and macro lens I've ever used.
Photoshop and my favorite Canon lens combine here to produce one of my favorite images.
NOTE: I am NOT selling this lens—I would not part with mine. I'm just sharing my experience as a user. I'm far from an expert with a camera, so I'm not the best person to ask any further questions of about camera equipment. I'm happy for you to share your experiences with this lens in the comments. Do you own a portrait and macro lens you love?
The original 2013 blog post.
I hope my Canon macro lens arrives tomorrow, then I'll have great fun, in my break from copy editing the latest Dreaming Billabong book, to photographing close ups. My current lens is a Tamron, a compromise as the Canon lens I bought was faulty. It isn't taking professional shots but it is good enough for my use, on my budget. This, the EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM has proven to be a great camera lens for close work.

Open Mystery
Ruth Randall's novel "A Judgement in Stone," opens with this line.
"Eunice Parchman killed the Coverdale family because she could not read or write." In open mystery novel, the reader knows who the murderer is, from the beginning; the mystery is why, and how, they did it, and if they will be caught. In The Stolen Years series of novels, the reader has a view of who commits many of the crimes. There is plenty of suspense while no one else suspects who the murderer is. The Stolen Years Series
