We checked out all the free campsites, the beach and facilities in the Seaspray to Paradise beach locations, today.
This area is a great place to catch sand crabs for dinner.
Don't Mess With My Man :-)
Grimly determined to catch that fish.
Today is the first day here that he has not been returning the fish as 'too small.'
Talk about a determined effort. He has been fishing for days, he sure deserved his rewards today.
2 King George Whiting
1 Hammer Head Shark - This is a great eating flake.
All caught on shore fishing at Seaspray Victoria on a beautiful slightly overcast day with very few people around. A mixture of sunshine and rain and a very light surf. The best bait was prawns.
Good to see Reg happy and enjoying the trying to catch something.
Reg had been fishing at Seaspray, Gippsland, Victoria for four days, and has caught and returned, several mud crabs and a 15cm yellowtail scad from the shore.
The yellow tail scad (Trachurus novaezelandiae) was legal size but there wasn't much of a feed on it so Reg put it back.
Reg has packed his largest fishing rod away. two reasons, he is only getting crabs on it and the weight and effort have been hard on his arthritis, he has changed over to a smaller and lighter rod. The large rod is there for when the results are worth the effort.
We have seen a few fish caught from the fishing platform in the creek, most undersized. One fisherman last night filled his bucket with tiny sand crabs. I wonder what these are like to eat. Have you tried them?
A trawler went though these waters not long before we arrived and it hauled in a huge catch and scared the fish away, they are slow in returning.
Tonight Reg went fishing and caught 2 undersized brim he returned and.... a deckchair. My 'difficult chapter, took off, I got verbal diarrhea and it wrote itself :-) while he was having fun fishing.
I call that a successful fishing trip.
Now if he was catching rabbits we would be having rabbit stew.

Gold, is a richly drawn, evocative, stand-alone novel.
ORPHANED, BETRAYED, and DETERMINED, Jane Mutta's adventures lead her to the 1850s Australian gold rush and encounters with (highwaymen) bushrangers. Amidst the dangers, there are rocky entanglements on a coach and steamship with the explorer Douglas Fife. To survive, she will need all her resources.
Something different in the way of romantic historical fiction. This is an adventure through humour and historically tragic events. It is more than historical romance — judge for yourself; Miss Mutta breaks stereotypes.
From an Australian bestselling author comes stories of determination to find one's place in a world that men are threatening to tear apart.
